  12. My 2.9-beta release of metaconfig is available on wuarchive.wustl.edu,
  13. in something like packages/dist/HMS-beta .

  15. I produced 2.9-beta from Larry Wall's 2.0 release, and Larry used an
  16. earlier version of 2.9-beta for the 4.0 release of Perl.

  18. Rafael Manfredi <ram@eiffel.com> is integrating my 2.9 beta release with
  19. his changes and some of Larry's changes, and should have a 3.0 release
  20. in a couple of months.

  22. My understanding is that Larry will have a few more changes to give us,
  23. and then take the result and use it for the 5.0 relase of Perl (but this
  24. is just a rumor, as I haven't spoken to Larry in many months).

  26. We're also interested in merging with the GNU autoconf effort, as long as
  27. the resulting "internal use" fragments do not require the software to be
  28. copylefted.
