- Find out what the software engineers at a dozen of the largest software
- development firms already know...
-
- How to cooperate with the most successful software technology
- consortium in the world!
-
-
- The Software Engineering Research Center (SERC)
-
- is pleased to announce...
-
- A FREE workshop on industry/university collaboration for software
- engineers and software managers. Topics will include:
- * Requirements analysis
- * CASE tools and environments
- * Quality and metrics
- * Reliability and testing
- * Maintenance and program understanding
- * Distributed and collaborative tools
- * Databases
-
- The workshop will be held February 23 in Orlando, Florida.
-
- Workshop participants will learn how to extract the best current
- research from university laboratories, how to "direct" research to serve
- the business interests of their organizations, and how to get a
- recruiting advantage for graduates who have a track record in critical
- applications so they will "hit the ground running."
-
- The SERC is a consortium of universities and industries. SERC
- conducts research in all aspects of software technology. SERC
- members are among the most forward-looking leaders in the computer
- industry.
-
- If your organization designs, builds, tests, or sells software or
- software services, your competitors may already have an advantage: they
- may be members of the Software Engineering Research Center. SERC
- members already know:
- * How to predict product quality before a line of code has been
- written
- * How to achieve at least 5-fold increases in the productivity
- of distributed application developers
- * How to decrease the cost of maintaining large product
- libraries
- * How to automatically turn single-user applications into
- multi-user distributed applications
- * How to estimate software size and costs
- * How to test and analyze large, real-time applications
-
- These are just a few of the software technologies that have been
- transferred from university laboratories to industrial use by the
- Software Engineering Research Center.
-
- SERC research is directed at software technology for:
- * Defense and aerospace applications
- * Telecommunications
- * Information systems
- * Scientific and parallel computing
- * Hardware and system developers
- * Manufacturing applications
- * Systems integration
- * Package and retail software
- * CASE and tool vendors
-
- There is no fee for attending this unique workshop.
-
- Attendees will receive:
- * Research summaries of on-going research
- * Hands-on demonstrations of current SERC research products
- * A free video of the SERC lecture series on research in
- software tools and environments
- * One-on-one consultations on topics of company interest with
- members of the SERC technical staff
- * Complimentary meals and refreshments
