  14. All patches received as of 0500Z 8 January have been incorporated in the
  15. distribution xntp3.tar.Z on louie.udel.edu. The patches have mostly to
  16. do with portability things; however, there are a few that affect the
  17. 1-pps feature with Sun SPARCstations. With a good, jitterless source
  18. such as a GPS receiver (this leaves WWVB and WWV receivers in the dust),
  19. the residual jitter is down in the 10-microsecond range. I also had
  20. to add another digit of precision to the ntpq billboards, since our
  21. DECstation 5000s were showing mostly zeros in the delay field. Modern
  22. workstations on FDDI rings bring a new dimension to timekeeping.
