  14. I have ported xntp3 to SVR4.1ES on an AT&T 3B2/1000.  When I start xntpd I get  
  15. the following message in the syslog:

  19. What does this mean?

  21. xntpd appears to be working ok and every couple of hours I get a syslog message  
  22. similar to the following:

  24. Jan  6 11:18:51 sellwood xntpd[13188]: offset 0.000000 freq 0.76137 comp 0

  26. Also, xntpdc and ntpq compiled ok, but when I try to run ntpq -p or xntpdc -p
  27. I get the following error:

  29. localhost: timed out, nothing received
  30. ***Request timed out
  31.  
  32. I realize this menas that it is trying to connect with the local xnptd and is  
  33. failing.  I can't seem to figure out why it is doing this.  Any ideas?
