- came out last summer, there are now a few shipping that conform to v1.1.

- WinSockAPI is very specific to a Windows-style environment. Microsoft has
- promised that it will run under NT, and IBM or other OS/2 TCP/IP vendors
- could provide it as part of a Windows emulation under OS/2, but it isn't
- likely to appear under things currently called "unix".
