- Probably should be an a FAQ, but I will venture to answer.
-
- NDIS is a specification for writing DOS based ethernet drivers to attach to
- ethernet hardware boards.
-
- Netbios is a communications protocol for client-server communications developed
- by Microsoft.
-
- Netbios can run over a variety of protocols, (e.g. TCP/IP, NBP, netbeui(sp?),
- xns, and DECNET to name a few). The protocol stack would then be written to
- talk to an ethernet card using NDIS, making the protocol stack network card
- independent.
-
- Hope that helps.
