- Hi all,
-
- We need to run a program (pacloan) that requires newt, which run on top of
- NDIS in a Token-ring lan runing novell's netware 3.11. Let me explain a
- little bit more.
-
- In our library we have an ethernet lan running novell's netware 3.11. I have
- no problem setting up ndis to run newt, and on top of it, pacloan. Now I have
- to install pacloan in this new environment, which I have never used before in
- a branch library about an hour's drive from where I am working. Up there they
- have this token-ring setup, running the token-ring version of clarkson drivers.
- Now pacloan requires ndis (through newt). I have no idea at all how to set it
- up.
-
- I have an IBM Token-ring Network 16/4 Adapter II with me. I called the pearson
- in charge of the token-ring lan, who told me how to set the 12 jumps. She
- said they were running the 4 mgb option of the card. On the diagnostic disk
- (version 1.02), under the directory \dos, there is this file imb16tr.dos,
- which I guess I will need for NDIS.
-
- My qestion is:
-
- 1. Is this imb16tr.dos the right ndis driver for my situation?
- 2. How do I write the protocol.ini?
- 3. What else do I need to know?
-
- Just treat me as a novice, which I am as far as token-ring is concerned, and
- please provide as detailed instruction as possible. If you have something
- similar working, I'll be very grateful if you could send me a copy of the
- config.sys, autoexec.bat and protocol.ini.
-
- Other information I can provide is: both newt and pacloan are ms windows based
- programs. The computer to run all these is an ibm compatible 386-33, 8 mb of
- RAM, et4000 vedio card (with 1 mb on board memory), 130mb of hard drive.
-
-
- Thank you very much for your help.
