  14. Can anybody give me any pointers to information relating to
  15. bugs/debugging SunOS BIND and NIS conflicts?

  17. I am running SunOS 4.1.2 and _sometimes_ find that when the
  18. system administrator has changed the NIS database, that,
  19.  
  20. 1. sometimes i have to restart sendmail again since it deosn't
  21. seem to know the names of any hosts outside our LAN
  22. once sendmail starts up again, it runs fine.

  24. 2. more seriously, we have to use IP addresses and not names to ping/
  25. ftp/telnet to outside hosts. nslookup (which uses a named on another
  26. machine) works fine.
