- Hello,
-
- I have a delemar...
-
- A staff member where I work has 2 printers, a macintosh with a 19"
- colour monitor, which he uses as a server, and a macintosh laptop
- which he takes from location to location, and on returning to his
- office downloads the information gathered on the laptop into the mac
- server.
-
- Now the problem is this. He now has an ethernet card in his mac
- server, which he wants to have connected to the ethernet to receive
- mail and take advantage of other equipment on the network. BUT. he
- cannot once he has changed the network software use the laser printers
- in his office area, or use the mac server from his laptop because the
- appletalk is touted through the ethernet card.
-
- Is there ANY software that will allow both ethernet and local talk to
- be send from the same mac?? I remember an apple sales person
- mentioning something about using a macintosh as a gateway server from
- local talk to ethertalk, but I cannot remember who said it or if it
- could be done...
-
- anyhelp would be appreciated..
-
- thanks
-
- bye
