- We have an IBM AIX 3.2 system that is currently using CAP software to
- print to Appletalk-connected printers. This part of the setup works
- great.
-
- We recently attached a PostScript printer (QMS PS1700) directly to the
- parallel port of the workstation. Now we want to use "lwsrv" to allow
- Mac users to print to this printer. What do I need to do to set this up?
-
- So far what I've done is:
-
- 1. Uploaded a copy of LaserPrep from a Mac to /local/cap/dicts
- 2. Started lwsrv with the options -n acdps3b -p acdps3
- -a/local/cap/dicts -f /local/cap/LWPlusFonts -T quote8bit
-
- We see the printer "acdps3b" in the chooser and can send output to it.
- The print monitor reports no problems and eventually the job appears to
- be printed. But we see nothing on our printer.
-
- Is this because lwsrv is making some assumptions about "lpr"? I really
- didn't undertand the business about LaserPrep at all. Is it necessary to
- put in /local/cap/dicts? Has anyone else out there ever gotten lwsrv to
- work that be willing to offer some suggestions? If so, I would be grateful.
-
- Thanks in advance.
