- I've been trying to post that this DID fix the problem..
- (thank you!! thank you!!) but the central newserver went
- bezique :-}

-
- yep.. worked fine.
-
- I just autogenned with PIOpages and CTLpages bumped up by
- 50-odd (I can't remember precisely) to be the same as a
- VAXstation 4000 I was able to check with.
- I then recommenced and it chugged away beautifully.
- Note: I *still* had the password checking (phase II or IV ?)
- go weird, but was able to ignore that..
- (the bit where it invokes AUTHORIZE was complaining about
- <something I can't remember> memory exhausted or something.)
-
- anyway.. it's all up and running!!! YAAYY! :-)
-
- can someone explain why a 3100 has DEFAULT settings that
- are too low to allow a &^@$@% upgrade???!!! :-}
- What precisely do these params do? I wouldn't have thought of
- it.. without the net I'd still be prostrate over the console :-}
-
- thanks again Colin!! (whew!)
