- I apologize if everyone in the world knew this except me...
-
- We rebooted our Vaxcluster last night and discovered that the system came
- up with the date of 5-JAN-1994 (366 days into the future).
-
- Unfortunately, our job scheduler decided to 'catch-up' on a year's worth of
- missed submits for certain jobs that were set up to ignore the "don't submit
- if later than X days" parameter.
-
- After contacting DEC they informed us that this is a *known* bug and that every
- good VAX shop will do a SET TIME after the first of the year before attempting
- any reboot.
-
- In case you are unwaware of this bug I suggest that you perform the afore-
- mentioned fix prior to a reboot. DEC claims that it hits systems randomly and
- you cannot foresee if your system will trigger the bug or not.
-
- Once again, I apologize if everyone else was aware of this. I have talked
- to several people who claim that they knew of this bug in the distant past
- but assumed that it had been fixed by now.
-
- Also - FYI - we are running VMS 5.5-1 on a 3-node cluster consisting of a
- 6420, a 6520 and a 6620.
