- Possible counter-question: Have you got any idea what DECwindows is all about???
-
- Short answer: No.
-
- Longer answer: VT100/VT220 are not graphics terminals, so even if you wrote
- your own X11 server software, you wouldn't be able to get things to work.
-
- Slightly more involved answer: Someone reverse-engineered the BookReader code
- to display the files on character cell terminals. She/he was hit very quickly
- and very hard with a breach-of-copyright notice from DEC and withdrew the code.

- Ah, well, that is another matter. You can get DECwindows for IBM/PCs and use
- the PC as a DECwindows terminal - which will happily show the DECwindows
- applications from you VAX. DEC charges money for this product, but you may be
- able to find some PD X11 server for PCs and then play around with details like
- DEC's fonts and so on (always a sore point when displaying BookReader on
- non-DEC equipment...). You need a decent graphics card, though, or you will get
- $#!tty (Macintosh like :-) resolution
