  31. Longer answer: VT100/VT220 are not graphics terminals, so even if you wrote
  32.  your own X11 server software, you wouldn't be able to get things to work.

  34. Slightly more involved answer: Someone reverse-engineered the BookReader code
  35.  to display the files on character cell terminals.  She/he was hit very quickly
  36.  and very hard with a breach-of-copyright notice from DEC and withdrew the code.

  40. Ah, well, that is another matter. You can get DECwindows for IBM/PCs and use
  41. the PC as a DECwindows terminal - which will happily show the DECwindows
  42. applications from you VAX. DEC charges money for this product, but you may be
  43. able to find some PD X11 server for PCs and then play around with details like
  44. DEC's fonts and so on (always a sore point when displaying BookReader on
  45. non-DEC equipment...). You need a decent graphics card, though, or you will get
  46. $#!tty (Macintosh like :-) resolution
