- Bob's real mistake was going ahead with quiting his job *before* he had the
- source code in hand *or* a written agreement signed by someone in authority
- allowing him to have it.

- In the first instance, he would have no trouble. In the second, he could sue
- for damages on the default of the contract.

- I feel sorry for Bob. He has always been a worthwhile contributor to this
- newsgroup and others. But he made the classic mistake of not covering his
- butt. He could have spared himself a lot of money and anguish if he had dotted
- all the i's and crossed all the t's.

- I see this sort of stuff happening all the time. It's sad, but you have to
- have it all signed, sealed and delivered before yu bet your livelihood on it.
