  12. I have this wuestion from a friend of mine:

  14. He is working on a program that does DMA data transfers with a hardware data
  15. acquisition card and, after having correctly programmed the DMA chip, his
  16. program bombs out under OS/2 (sometimes makes OS/2 to crash as well!).

  18. This program works very well under normal DOS, in Windows 3.1, using special
  19. settings recommended by Microsoft for DMA transfers.
  20.  
  21. Question: are there settings with OS/2 that allow DMA transfers to work better
  22. (at all, actually...)? He understands DMA transfers are virtualized and
  23. knows of the existence of the "VDMA.SYS" driver, but does not know how to use
  24. it.

  26. He is using a version of OS/2 that has been updated with IBM's CSD.
