  12. I'm doing some maintenance work on a project, and have noticed that the
  13. program occasionally leaves COMx files in the directory in which it the
  14. program was run.  Most of the time, these files can be deleted, but
  15. sometimes, I get an error message like:

  18. \DEV\COM2
  19. SYS0003: The system cannot find the path specified.
  20.  
  21. I suspect that the files are left when the com ports aren't closed
  22. properly.  Am I correct?  Is there a way to delete these files from
  23. the keyboard without trying to delete my com driver?
