- Does anybody else have this problem:
- I installed OS/2 Lan Server 3.0 from IBM, and also installed the
- OS/2 remote IPL support (RIPL). After loading OS/2 to the drive
- (with RIPLINST) and using GETRPL afterwards, one should have a first
- working default. Especially, the installer should generate a default
- RPL.MAP file, which contains some server and requester records.
- The trouble is, this file is completely goofed up on my system, and,
- even worse, I am not able to manually generate one (Lan Server always
- complains about some errors in the file). Furhermore, there should
- be generated some network aliases (calles RIPLFILES or something
- like this), which are also not here. I had exactly the same problems
- with Lan Server 2.0 earlier. So, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???
- Some more problems: The installer doesn't generate a PATH statement for
- /IBMLAN/NETPROGS, and the manual never mentions to do so manually.
- So, the STARTUP.CMD fails to do "NET START SRV"...
- I am using: OS/2 2.0 US with US Service Pack, LAN Server 3.0 US,
- IBM PS/2 Mod. 95.
- If somebody knows the answer, I would be glad to hear it.
- Thank you and regards, Martin
