- I have been trying to install a 3270 (SDLC) comm manager workstation.
- The same PC has previously been used as an IRMA MS-DOS workstation.
- OS/2 2.0 (the earliest GA version) is installed. ES 1.0 (again the
- earliest GA version) installs, but when started with the automatic
- start 3270 option, fails when it attempts to execute the SLDC vdd
- (the error is something about not being able to execute the driver)
- in CONFIG.SYS. ES is installed as only comm manager SDLC support.
- We have tried installing in various ways over two days.
-
- The configuration is:
-
- ISA 386/40 computer
- IDE harddrive <-----------> v32 external modem <--------> Telephone
- IBM SLDC board
-
- The error is that the driver is invalid. We are not sure even how to
- research this problem. The only idea we have come up with is that there
- may be an interrupt conflict (the SDLC board used the default COM1:
- interrupt).
-
- I would appreciate any insight you would have. This seems too
- common a scenario not to have been tested.
-
- Thanks,
- Aaron
