- The technical issue behind all of this is that the Shutdown action sends
- 2 FS_SHUTDOWN messages to all file systems. Each remote file system might
- have to perform some network action as a result of this SHUTDOWN message.
- This action can take some time. If a network action hangs or fails
- and the IFS is not especially friendly about error recovery; this might
- cause the symptoms described above.

- As a aside; you don't need to select Shutdown to cleanly shut down your
- machine; Ctl-Alt_Del sends the same 2 FS+SHUTDOWN messages.
