- I've two Seagate ST1239 AT bus drives, one old modell with 14 jumpers
- and a new one. When i try to install OS/2 2.0 GA onto the old drive,
- installation aborts at disk 1 with a trap 0d.
-
- The new ST1239 accepts OS/2 without problems. But when i add the old
- ST1239 to the system (both drives correctly setup as master and slave),
- the bootup process aborts with the infamous 'Call your representitive'
- screen and a trap 0d as soon as it peeks at the second drive! Very
- strange. With a WD Piranhia as an AT bus slave i have no problems. I
- tried different bus speeds, I/O waitstates, cache on, cach off, but
- otherwise then booting slower or faster, no difference could be
- observed.
-
- This took place on a 486-33 with 8 MB RAM, ATI Vantage, with or without
- ibm1s506.add patch.
