- I had the most peculiar problem to date. I was playing
- around with Beta drivers to improve system performance.
- Well they Trapped. That's ok.
-
- The last trap I got would not reboot. I claimed that PSSHELL.EXE was
- not an executable! Turns out, after over two hours of floppy swapping,
- that the Extended Attribute for \os2 and its subs were corrupted.
- OS/2 booted from GA would not fix it, it claimed that c:\ was busy
- by another process wether it was the GA or the SP chkdsk. OS/2 copy
- would not work neither would dir complaining of corrupted EA
-
- In last resort I copied all of \os2 and subs into c:\, patched config.sys.
- I was able to reboot from the second copy of OS/2and chkdsk fixed the \os2.
- I then cleaned up the system and came back to where I was minus OS*.ini.
-
- I would have liked booting not to present a problem.
- CHKDSK did fix problem but after the system booted.
- What is needed would be to run chkdsk earlier. If it's not possible,
- check the EA before you try to run files. Deleting the EA would probably
- have worked because only thing corrupted was the EA's for the \os2.
-
- Aside from that I am an happy customer!
