- I have continued to play with OS/2 2.1 on 4 meg machine. I have it running
- like a rocket!
-
- Try this:
-
- Use FAT, not HPFS.
- Use the cmd.exe instead of running the WorkPlace Shell.
-
- You can still run all the PM, DOS and WinOS/2 apps. You alt+Esc between them.
-
- Even better, however, is using Norton Commander for OS/2 as the interface!
-
- Starting the MENU.EXE program first seems to be the best way. This way you get
- a nice - though sparse - PM menu that you can put your apps onto. It's a kind
- of low-rent Program Manager
-
- Most importantly, though, the performance is great! I had a DOS window, OS/2
- full screen, WinOS2 3.1, PMSeek and PM Calculator all open and running and the
- system was going *very* nicely!!!
-
- Try this if you have 4 megs. You don't need Norton Commander, but it does
- provide a PM menuing system that is pretty clever, too, as well as what looks
- very much like the Win3.1 File Manager....only better.
