  17. Why?  Anyone (not only registered OS/2 2.0 users) can join DAP and
  18. order the beta for $15, which is nothing more than a shipping and
  19. manufacturing charge, and you know it.

  21. Nobody would use this beta for their working system, since it's slow
  22. (full of debugging code), and bug-ridden, and will not be upgraded to
  23. the release version of 2.1 without proof of purchase for 2.0 anyway.

  25. There may have been some legal problems with copyright anwyay, but
  26. it's certainly not to protect IBM from lost profits!  Do you think
  27. that it affects IBM any differently if people get it for free or for
  28. $1.50 each? ($15 for a 10-copy site license)
