- I got the OS/2 2.1 CD-ROM and created install floppies from the CD
- using another computer. I have a Western Digital Piranha 200 meg HD
- (don't know the model #) and a Fujitsu 500 meg FJ2624A. Both are IDE
- hard drives. It appears that the beta barfs on the Fujitsu drive.
- On the second disk (install disk 1), it accesses the hard disk,
- and the light stays on forever (I really mean indefinite), and it
- gives an error message stating that FDISK won't run. I removed
- the Fujitsu by removing it from the CMOS setup, and it booted fine
- and I got the menu. This seems pretty major. Someone needs to get
- this do IBM, preferable without paying CI$. (that's why I wont
- do it myself).
-
- I bought that drive instead of a SCSI to avoid SCSI problems....
- and look what I get. OS/2 2.1 beta pukes on the IDE but likes
- SCSI....
