- If you must use Microsoft C/C++ 7.0 (not recommended, frankly; it
- isn't the best on the market), there are two ways you can get it
- running under OS/2 2.0. Both patches are available via anonymous ftp
- from ftp-os2.nmsu.edu.
-
- One way allows it to run under OS/2 2.0 as a DOS application. The
- other allows the environment to run under OS/2 as an OS/2 application.
- Check the file /pub/os2/00Index at that site for location. The larger
- file of the two turns MS-C 7.0 into an OS/2 application.
-
- In both cases it will not generate OS/2 programs, it should be noted,
- which can really cause difficulties. (Can anyone explain how
- Microsoft wants one to do development under SQL Server or LAN Manager
- -- its own products?)
