- Some people have been asking lately for jump-scrolling in a dos window. As
- it turns out, I have found a way to do this. (I posted a message a while
- ago, but I don't know if I did it right.)
-
- One night, I was screwing around with some files I had downloaded, one of
- which was called UNBLIN20.ZIP (available from OAK.OAKLAND.EDU
- /pub/msdos/screen). This program changes the cursor from the standard blinking
- line to a solid non-blinking block. After running this program, and doing
- a DIR in a window, I found the scrolling speed MUCH improved. Taking it
- out and doing a dir again, bleh, back to the same old smooth slow scroll.
- So in my AUTOEXEC it goes. (for your info, I put UNBLINK near the top of
- my autoexec, and execute it with a /u to turn the cursor into an
- Unblinking block.)
-
- So, in summary, it seems that when the cursor is disabled (i.e. no
- flashing) the scrolling is much improved. I would heartily suggest you try
- this program, since the improvement is appreciable.

- P.S. Can someone reply to this message, I am not sure if it is getting out
- to the world...)
