- No, I'm not sure. The OS/2 people don't track our DMQS files completely.
- They may well have had different numbers. The numbers I listed are the
- ones officially supported in the 2.02 reference diskette, at least as
- noted in Appendix A of the installation instructions. We've had many
- different revisions of officially supported DMQS files and I'm not sure
- which version the SP picked up. I haven't installed the DMQS files from
- the reference diskette (I have my own "custom" set) so I really don't
- know what's in there.
-
- If you want to go and play with the DMQS files you're quite able to
- violate many of our specs and get what you want, or to tune your display
- for its maximum performance. For example, our DMQS guru here is running
- his XGA-2 out of spec while driving his 6091 in 1280x1024x16 at 67Hz
- noninterlaced. That comes out to a 120MHz dot clock, while our official
- max is 90MHz. So yes, you can modify the DMQS file, but you should know
- what you're doing and be willing to accept the consequences of violating
- the specifications. NOTE: if you try this, you take your own chances.
- We don't support that kind of abuse and I have no idea what it would do
- to the life of the adapter. We also don't officially support the 6091
- display, but boy do I wish I had one!
