- It is, in fact, a synergy between this drive and OS/2. This drive
- (and a few others) must do something (sector mapping, most likely)
- that OS/2 has problems with. We use one of these drives, and have
- had our system trashed twice, but not to the point that we haven't
- been able to reinstall. It is not the adaptec drivers, because the
- same thing has happened to us with both a 1542b and an FD1680.
-
- We notified IBM of the bug when it first hit us early after GA, and
- got blown off several times. We notified them that our development
- schedule was thrown (it's now off by almost a year due to OS/2 and C
- Set/2 bugs), but have got no satisfaction. You need to call your
- local equivalent of the US 800 number, if you have one, tell them
- what's going on, and pray.
-
- We're still using the drive, but have found that once you get it
- configured, DON'T TOUCH IT. Do *NOT* run FDISK, even to just *look*
- at the partition table, because it will erase all the format
- information for the partitions on that drive.

- Good luck.
