- Hi everyone:
-
- Tonight I just installed the SIO.SYS and VSIO.SYS drivers (SIO_V031.ZIP)
- and after experiencing minor problems, and then 3 severe system *CRASHES*,
- causing a minor FAT corruption on my hard drive, I decided to disable the
- drivers until the next one came out.
-
- I had placed the SIO and VSIO drivers in my CONFIG.SYS as mentioned in
- the docs, changed the DOS settings for my app (Waffle) to use COM1, with
- COM virtualization enabled, and 16550 virtualation enabled. I am using
- the X00 fossil version 1.49a with Waffle.
-
- It was working kind of flakey, but it definitely knocked the TX rate
- up a few hundred CPS -- but 3 times it led to:

-
- The system detected an internal processing error at location
- ##0160::fffa3bb4 - 000d:00049bb4.
-
- 60000, 7016
-
- 038600d1
- Internal revision 6.307, 92/03/01
-
- The system is stopped. Record the location number at the error and...
-

-
- On the 3rd time, I had to fix some minor file corruption using CHKDSK.
-
- I am running OS/2 2.0 GA (CSD level XR02000 -- previous was XR00000,
- I believe installing the SIO drivers may have changed it?) without the
- SP.
-
- Any idea what happened? Is there eventually going to be an SIO driver
- that will no longer require the X00 fossil? Also -- even though the
- CPS rate did go up, it still is nowhere near that I experienced under
- DOS.
