- My system has been running great for quite a while with two IDE hard disks
- and a Tandberg Streamer (SCSI ID 2) on an Adaptec 1542B. Now I've connected
- a Fujitsu M2624 520MB SCSI disk to the 1542B and restarted the system.
- Starting FDISKPM I had the 3rd disk clearly on display and (I think) set it to
- be a logical drive. However, when FDISKPM asked me to shutdown and restart
- the system upon exit, I was stupid enough not to follow this instruction.
- Instead, I killed FDISKPM manually from a text window and did a few other
- things (not related to the disk setup) first. Then I shut down.
- When rebooting my system, OS/2 would not boot anymore, giving error messages
- like that it cannot find 'E:\OS2\SYSTEM\COUNTRY.SYS' (E: is my OS/2 partition
- on IDE drive 2), and it actually messes up my OS/2 file system. This happens
- no matter what I do, with every possible SCSI ID, with or without the tape
- streamer being connected. I've even had to reinstall everything anew (several
- times!), but the same thing happens whenever the SCSI disk is connected.
-
- If it hadn't worked in the beginning, i could blame the disk or the drivers,
- but I WAS able to boot with this disk connected at first and I DID have this
- disk visible in FDISKPM.
-
- What's wrong here? Please help, I'm desperate (I've spent 2 days and 2 nights
- with hardly any sleep just trying - reinstalling - trying - re.... )
-
- Any help will greatly be appreciated!
