  14. Thank you for your hint about "CHKDSK F: /F:3" --- it would not work !!!

  16. Anyway, before posting the message that I cannot access drive F: nor
  17. have it successfully repaired with CHKDSK, I permutated all parameters of
  18. CHKDSK:
  19.  
  20.      CHKDSK F:     .... tells me about troubles in the allocation pool and
  21.                         a file, CHKDSK would have to remove (no problems here)
  22.  
  23.      CHKDSK F: /V  .... displays all files on the locked partition
  24.  
  25.      CHKDSK F: /F:0 ... same as CHKDSK F:
  26.  
  27.      CHKDSK F: /F:1 thru /F:3 results in asking me to get in touch with
  28. "BillMc" resp. "MarkH" to debug.
  29.  
  30. All sectors of drive F: can be read without errors with the test-function of
  31. the famous GammaTech Utilities. So this leads me to believe that there are
  32. logical errors in the HPFS-definition for drive F: (due to cold-boots
  33. necessary because of a faulty PC) in which the developpers are interested in.

  35. As I have no means to get in touch with them I am asking in Internet for help,
  36. (maybe some IBM'ers could give me hint?) as I would need some data on that
  37. drive.

  39. Someone suggested that a faulty IBM1*.ADD-driver caused such a message on his
  40. machine. This definitely seems not to be the case, as I have installed various
  41. versions of OS/2 on other partitions and attempted to CHKDSK that locked drive
  42. of mine (US-versions of: GA+SP which was installed on another partition, then
  43. GA alone; German-versions of: GA, preloaded OS/2; by the way using or applying
  44. the service pack after that disk is locked is not possible).
