I'm just very new in reading this newsgroup (in fact, reading any newsgroup), and I'm just very confused about those lots of different version names that could be heard these days:
I bought the german version of OS/2 2.0 in May 1992. About October, I began to obtain all the bugfixes published through the Internet, like new kernel, new BVSVGA, etc. At least, I got the 14-disc-Service Pack including 32-Bit-Graphics-Engine. But that didn't want to work on my (german) version. In a german computer magazin (c't) I read, that a patch in SYSLEVEL.OS2 could force the CSP to instal, but probably the system would be instable after installation.
My question: Does anybody have any experiences installing the English pack on the German version? Is it possible? Of course, I could wait up to end of Feb93, but thats a long time when you only have 800x600x16 on your 1Meg-ET4000...
2nd question: What is it about all those different versions to be discusses here in the Internet. Is "2.1" the so-called "2.00.1", is it similar to the CSP (that one mentioned before), what is even about OS/2 3.0, that is said to be released in Autumn93???
