- Well... NT should turn your feet to ice then! :) We got the NT beta a few
- days ago. The documentation says the beta REQUIRES 8 Mb memory (16 Mb
- recomended), 70 Mb free disk space PLUS 20 Mb for the page file. It also
- says that by the final release the recommended RAM _should_ drop to 8 Mb.
- The 70 Mb sounds high but I think the beta was a developers edition
- (our Systems guys ordered it so I can't say for sure) and may contain stuff
- that won't be in the final release.
-
- As for it's looks; it looks a lot like Windows 3.1, and VERY much like
- Windows 3.1 for Workgroups. The best thing I've seen about the NT beta
- so far is the new game FreeCell. :) Personally, I prefer OS/2. I like
- it's object oriented nature and it Dos/Windows compatibility. NT on the
- other hand doesn't provide the same level of compatibility; it's support
- for OS/2 is limited to character-cell apps. As for DOS support, I can't
- say. Our systems people just installed the beta yesterday (took all most
- of today to get the mouse working! Finally had to get rid off BOTH the
- bus bus 'mice' they tried and go with a Microsoft serial one).
