- I have an interesting problem with printing documents under the winos2
- 3.1 beta. At home I have OS/2 GA installed. At my office I have OS/2
- GA + SPK + winos2 3.1 beta installed. I am using HP laserjet IIP
- print drivers. When I created a document at home using Mathcad for
- windows or wordperfect 5.1 for windows and try to print at my office,
- a bunch of garbage comes out of the printer (many pages, unreadable
- print characters, etc.). The mathcad document was using the windows
- print drivers and the wordperfect document was using the wordperfect
- print drivers. I also tried to print a document created by a
- colleague using Wordperfect for DOS under DOS 5.0 on my office system
- and had the same mangled results. However, when I create a document
- with either mathcad or wordperfect at my office under the winos2 3.1
- beta, the documents are printed correctly. Switching back to winos2
- 3.0 GA +spk at my office fixed the problem (fortunately I had
- preserved this on my disk, so switching back was not a problem). Has
- anyone else had this problem? This is very strange. The winos2 3.1
- beta was manually installed using the unpack command and then changing
- the win.ini and system.ini files manually to use the correct video
- drivers. The various windows groups were also manually copied from
- the winos2 3.0 directory to the winos2 3.1 directory. Otherwise,
- everything works great. It is not a big problem for me to use winos2
- 3.0 except for the slightly snappier performance I get using winos2
- 3.1, but I am curious. My work computer is a 50 MHz 486DX EISA with 16
- mbytes, 220 Mbyte HD, ATI Graphics Ultra (ugh!), 3C503 ethernet card.
