  29. Did you delete your config.sys file in the root of the OS/2 drive ?
  30. If not, you might have migrated the 'SET DELDIR=...' lines of the old
  31. config.sys. In the 2.1 beta, this will lead to a TRAP D (it did at least
  32. for a few people) as soon as a file is deleted. DSPINSTALL did the same
  33. with my system, when I installed it over GA+SP. Previous installation on
  34. its own *empty* partition worked fine, since by default the 'SET DELDIR...'
  35. lines are REMed out in config.sys and autoexec.bat.

  42. Yes. You have to UNPACK the DSPRES.DLL file (I assume the TRAP D happened
  43. immediately after DSPRES.DLL was copied, being the first file) from the 
  44. Display Driver disk yourself 'UNPACK a:\dspres.dl_'. To run UNPACK, boot
  45. from a floppy (or the installation disks, if you don't have a bootable
  46. floppy ->> read the FAQ from here on if you don't know how), run CHKDSK and
  47. then UNPACK. You might have to replace more than DSPRES.DLL, if the
  48. DSPINSTALL did delete more files (which I doubt). The Display Driver disks
  49. contain *.dsp files, which list the necessary drivers for each card. The
  50. name of the *.dsp file is a combination of the card type (TS for TSENG) and
  51. the resolution.

  55. TRAP D is a General Protection Fault having an invalid pointer as its 
  56. most common cause. In this case it is a bug in the DELDIR mechanism,

  65. As far as I know, CHKDSK X: /F:2 , where X: is your drive is the only
  66. way to correct it. But it might have been a good idea to run CHKDSK
