Did you re-install the fonts? You need to install them for both OS/2 and
ATM. The fonts are on the last printer disk. Also, many others are available
on hobbes. As for screen sync, that is expected. I assume you have the OS/2
desktop runing at hi-res, and DOS fullscreen at normal. Try using the dmode/vmode
or whatever came with your adapter to change the DOS resolution if you want, and
then do your SVGA on. Personally, I leave dos at standard VGA since I only
use it for games.
Oh, I believe ATI uses the VGA wonder chip (maybe not the official name) on
their cards. The Ultra series uses the Mach accelerator chips. Many
people use the Tseng. You can buy generic ET-4000 cards with 1 Meg and
a Hi-color DAC for about $85 these days. I just ordered one since my
very early ET-4000 has bugs in 256 color modes.
