- Hello. I've been having a problem that I have not been able to figure
- out how to fix, so before I bend IBM's ear, I figured I would check here
- to see if anyone else has had this problem and found a way around it.
-
- Anways, I am running OS/2 2.0 GA with the CSD patches. The problem
- I am having is with the COMM port. I have 2 comports, my mouse on COM1,
- and a 14,400 Supra modem on COM2. I run a DOS BBS in a VDM (the standard
- OS/2 DOS, not a real copy of DOS). The BBS runs in a window. The problem
- I am having is that whenever I open up a fullscreen DOS session, a signal
- is sent to my modem (happens when I switch _out_ of a full screen session
- also). This has the result of hanging up on anyone who would happen to
- be online at the time. Also, if no one is online, it screws up the modem
- so that no one can call in until I reset the BBS. Therefore, I am stuck
- having to use the VDM in a window all the time, and having to temporaly
- take down the BBS if I have to do anything full screen. I have used the
- original COMM drivers, switch to a newer set I got from hobbes ftp site,
- and now am running the SIO v0.20 comm drivers, and ALL had the same result.
- I have also even tried disabling access to COM2 in a DOS VDM that I wanted
- to make full screen (through DOS Settings...), but it still sends something.
-
- Has anyone experienced this problem, and is there a way to fix it? Should
- I try loading up a real copy of DOS in a VDM? Could someone with the OS/2
- 2.1 Beta tell me if it has the same problem? (I am considering getting it).
-
- BTW, OS/2 full screen command line does not have this problem.
-
- Thanks, and *PLEASE* EMAIL ME, I cannot keep up with the traffic in this
- group very well.
