- This is almost totally off subject, but, much like any other business,
- in computing it pays to get a second opinion. With doctors and
- lawyers one normally asks for a second opinion, at least on serious
- matters. The same should hold true for computer "professionals."

- There's a lot of bad advice out there. Case in point: today I was
- told by the local store that an add-on 4 MB memory card for an IBM
- ThinkPad 700C required a $60 charge for installation, and if I chose
- to install that memory myself I would "void the warranty." Now, I
- don't own a ThinkPad 700C, but I do know this is not reality.
