- I downloaded the tri32new.zip archive from hobbes recently, unpacked
- it, and installed the files according to Steve Withers' revised directions.
- The installation went smoothly (I did it all by hand) and it came up first
- try -- even the seamless Windoze support works! Kudos to whoever at
- Trident wrote this stuff. I was amazed to see drivers from a single vendor
- that support so many other vendor's cards!
-
- But, as often happens, there is a fly in the ointment. In this case, the
- fly is that in 800x600 mode the top 1 1/8" (approximately) of the 8" high
- screen is repeated at the bottom 1 1/8" (approximately) of the screen such
- that the top row of icons in the WPS is repeated at the bottom of the screen.
- This not only occurs in the PM, but also with both seamless *and* full-screen
- Windoze apps. The 640x480x256 driver works fine.
-
- Anybody else seen this? Anybody know the fix? I sure would like to be able to
- use this driver. BTW, my board is the VGA Wonder XL and has 512K of video
- ram on it. The board works fine running Windows 3.1 over DOS in 800x600 mode
- and works OK with Joel A.'s driver (but I want seamless Windoze support, so
- I've not been using it), so I don't think I have a hardware problem.
-
- Thanks,
- Carl
