  18. Well I own an accutrack and have the pm software. First the software
  19. is a bit buggy, and tends to crash the system. But I have had no
  20. problems once I start a backup or a restore and I haven't had any
  21. tapes corrupted. But they defintly need to do more testing. Also
  22. when you install it, DO NOT LET IT MODIFY YOUR CONFIG.SYS IT WILL
  23. DESTROY IT!!!!

  25. As for the tapes themselves. I can backup my 210 drive in around 1/2
  26. hour. The tape software itself, when it works, is quite powerful. It
  27. has a library function so it keeps tracks of whats on your tapes so
  28. if you want to find something you don't have to start searching
  29. tapes. I also believe it has a time function but for the life of me
  30. I can't remember and I'm at school so I can't check it out.

  32. All in all the hardware is fine, its fast and reliable and not all
  33. that expensive. Their compression algorithm is fairly good averaging
  34. between 1.5:1 and 2:1. (I got around 1.8:1 when I backed up my drive
  35. and 99% of my material is executable code) And I don't think their
  36. PM software will give you any long term problems but you should be
  37. aware that it is buggy.
