- I've had real problems with printing in WIN-OS2. After giving the command
- to print in any Windows app (Write 3.0, Winword 1.1, Excel 2.1), the first
- page appears to spool, and then stop (I have Print Manager disabled,
- according to suggestions in FAQ, so the OS/2 spooler should take over).
- Printing begins, the print counter in the application stops at page 2 and
- waits for the first page to print. Then the second page begins to print,
- but doesn't spool--the application print counter stays on page 2 until it
- slowly prints and exits the printer.
-
- My hardware is an IBM model 70 (16mHz) with 6Mb of RAM and 60Mb hard disk.
- The printer is a HP DeskJet Plus using the supplied printer driver for
- WIN-OS2 and the beta driver for OS/2. I'm using OS/2 2.0 with the service
- pack installed--note that the same problem occurred _before_ I installed
- the service pack.
-
- What I'd like to happen is for the WIN-OS2 print job to spool out and
- return control of the system. I know the OS/2 print spooler is working
- 'cause this is what occurs when I use MS Word 5.0 as an OS/2 app.
-
- I hope the answer isn't "get more memory", because to expand this system
- I'd have to buy an expansion card in addition to SIMMS--I'm trying to save
- my $$ for a new system.
-
- Any help would be appreciated.
-
- Thanks, Larry
