- I help to manage a NetWare net where we have 'roving' Windows 3.1 users.
- Anyone can login from any PC and get their desktop; this is achieved by
- keeping the users' INIs and GRPs on their net drive. EXEs, DLLs, etc are
- stored on the local hard drives.
-
- One problem with this setup is that "setup /p", when run from the program
- manager, returns an error saying that the user is "attempting to run setup
- from windows and that he should run setup from outside of windows".
- "Setup /p" is a very handy trick for rebuilding damaged program groups
- based on the user's SETUP.INF file. Under Win30, "setup /p" worked
- wonderfully for roving users. I'd appreciate any advice on getting "setup
- /p" to work properly under Win31 in a roving situation.
