  19. Hmm.  I always start a dial-in SLIP connection before I enter Windows, and I 
  20. have *never* lost the connection due to starting Windows.  The only thing that 
  21. I can think of is that I have disabled both DCD and DTR in my modem 
  22. (at&c0&d0), so you may want to try that.
