  13.   I  discovered  a  very  annoying  bug with Windows' 3.1 TrueTypeFonts
  14.   (TTF's) and I can't imagine being the first one:
  15.   When  using  complex  TTF's  (especially  the  three ornamented fonts
  16.   "CarrickCaps",  "KonanurKaps" and "Starburst"; others too), the chars
  17.   display well at the screen, but get printed out as empty, rectangular
  18.   boxes!
  19.   Sometimes,  it's  just  the other way round: the chars are "boxed" or
  20.   completely invisible at the screen, but print out alright!
  21.   This  effect  depends  on the font size: with (say) 8 points, display
  22.   _and_  printout  are  both  fine, at about 14 point, printout becomes
  23.   garbage  (some (less complex) chars are okay, some others of the same
  24.   font  print  out  as  boxes.  In  fact, increasing the char size even
  25.   further (about 60 point), the chars get "boxed" at the screen, too!
  26.   Note  that  this  problem  is  *not*  bound  to a specific program or
  27.   printer: I tested it out with WinWord 2.0 as well as with Write; with
  28.   a HPLaserjet and a NEC-P7-printer; on a 486 with 8MB and a 386/4MB!
  29.   The  most  critical  combination  is TTF "Starburst" and WinWord: its
  30.   impossible  to  print  correctly  with  char sizes of more than 8 (!)
  31.   point!

  33.   I  suspect  that by default, Windows doesn't set aside enough RAM for
  34.   the font-handling; does anybody know how to fix that?
