- We've had a similar problem with our DTC 3290. Occasionally setup
- will hang while scanning for the controller, but usually on my system
- it does identify the controller as an Adaptec 154x, and the install
- continues normally. The problem is, when the NT kernel tries to boot,
- I get a fatal error 0x69. Several people on the net have informed me
- that this error indicates that NT can't communicate with the
- controller properly (i.e. it's an incompatible/unsupported
- controller).
-
- I've been trying to reach DTC all week to ask about this, but haven't
- been able to get through yet. If anyone has any luck, please let me
- know. The tech support number is (408) 262-7700.
-
- As for compatibility, I've also had problems with 386BSD v0.1, which
- is supposed to support the Adaptec 1542, so I wouldn't say it was 100%
- compatible.
-
- On the bright side, DTC seems to be pretty much on top of things when
- it comes to driver support (they are working on OS/2 2.0 drivers, for
- example), so hopefully we will see some drivers soon. Also, isn't NT
- supposed to be designed to make SCSI drivers easier to write?
