- We're in the process of porting INN (InterNet News - a one-piece
- replacement for CNews, NNTP, et al) to NT. It should be complete in
- early to mid February. UUCP news and mail transport will be included.
- The initial cut of the service runs as a detached process, though in its
- final form it will likely be an NT service. A cron-like job scheduler
- is included for launching the support utilities.
-
- The news reader is rapidly nearing completion. It should be available
- for download within two weeks. It is similar in functionality to xrn,
- but includes more (and simpler) gui-based subscription management and
- article viewing and posting options.
-
- A 16-bit single-threaded (Windows 3.1) version of the reader will follow
- as soon as I can get a hold of a 16-bit winsock DLL.
-
- If I can get access to the hardware, MIPS versions will also follow.
-
- Current plans are for all of the above to be distributed as
- fully-functional shareware.
