  11. We were intending to use ACCESS and DDE to be able to get information
  12. about PowerPoint 3.0 presentations into database tables.  However,
  13. Microsoft has told us that PP 3.0 does not support DDE and that they
  14. have no plans to incorporate DDE in the next few releases.  They did
  15. however state that there is some DDE facilities in PP to support OLE
  16. but that they this was for internal use only.

  18. Is there any way, other than lots of mouse clicking, to automate at least
  19. the recovery of slide titles, outlines, and slide contents so that the
  20. information can be incorporated into ACCESS or some other database.  I know
  21. that NDW 2.0 will launch and print a PP file if it is dragged over the 
  22. desktop printer icon.  Does this use DDE, or just command line arguments?

  24. It seems strange that the newest release of PP does not support DDE,
  25. a major element if you need to put together a system that is any more
  26. sophisticated that the program's standard interface.  What about the
  27. multi-media angle? Shouldn't every non-trivial program at least support
  28. DDE to control menu operation?
