  11. I have a two-pronged question to ask here.

  13. I am considering buying a graphics package, something along the lines
  14. of Corel Draw/Harvard Graphics for general graphics presentations
  15. with my work (drawings of equipment, expt set-up, etc) I want it
  16. to run under windows, primarlily to allow compatability with WFW
  17. and Excel, printing under the one driver, pasting to Word.
  18. Are these packages the best options for such purpose?

  20. The second part is:  I use a package on an SGI which generates
  21. postscript (or HPGL) output files. The package itself makes annotation
  22. of the files very difficult. Besides, as a PS file, one is reduced
  23. to cutting/pasting/photocopying to incorporate the diagram anywhere
  24. else.
  25. Now, in an ideal world, I would like to be able to use the
  26. package chosen above, to read in the postscript or HPGL diagram,
  27. display it as a diagram on my PC, allow me to modify the diagram
  28. further (ie add annotations, second axes, etc), save the new file
  29. in windows (.BMP?) format, paste it to WordFW, print it out under
  30. my windows driver on my non-postcript laser printer (Canon LBP-4).

  32. No doubt I am asking too much here?? :-)
  33. Are there any packages that will allow such an operation?
  34. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
