- More Mouse questions.
-
- First, my partial mouse problem is probably an internal bug.
- In other words, I have on a few systems the mouse working OK,
- and on other the mouse is just not working at all.
-
- Then, I explored with int 0x33 list, the different mouse interface
- and even replaced the mouse driver. I had a MSCMOUSE and thought it
- was MS-C Mouse. No, it was actually a Mouse System Corp mouse.
-
- So, my question is now:
-
- Since different mouse drivers are obviously not compatible, how do
- big software to read different mouses? There are different way of connecting
- a mouse (bus mouse, COMx mouse), so, I think these software are using
- the mouse driver provided with the mouse, but use those less documented
- functions (the Mouse System and other not MS)? Or is there some call
- to tell a Mouse System or other mouse to emulate the MS mouse?
- And my deep brain memory tells me something about a mouse I owned
- previously: it was a Genius I think and you had to depress a button
- (or something like that) to have the mouse emulating the MS Mouse package.
- So, I presume there is a mouse call that will enable that emulation mode.
-
- I checked on Simtel20 list of files and found no universal mouse driver
- nor a text file about the problem of using any mouse.
