- I have upload the file PROICONS.ZIP to MIR.ECO.UTEXAS.EDU in the
- \inbasket directory. It's the first time I've uploaded something to
- an FTP-site someone download it and see if it unzips properly?
- Thanks.
-
- I wanted to use the icons that are found in the DOS PROGRAMS area of
- GeoWorks Pro. I used the PC/GEOS screen dumper to take various
- snapshots of the icons in that area and then I clipped them into
- individual .PCX files. Then I used ICONMAKE 1.0 by MARCUS GROEBER to
- convert the PCX files into PC/GEOS icons.
-
- The resolution of the icons in the DOS PROGRAMS area were about
- 65x45x16 and in order to convert the files into usable PC/GEOS icons
- their resolutions had to be reduced to 48x30x16. This required a lot
- of tedious work, and in most cases the icons had to be completely
- redrawn. Unfortunately, the icons often don't look as crisp as the
- originals but I think it was the best that could be done with the
- utilities available to me.
-
- I often draw icons to suit my own needs -- I will upload them when I
- accumilate a large enough collection of quality icons. I would
- appreciate any suggestions and ideas that you have for icons -- it's
- difficult to come up with ideas for new ones.
-
- If you find the icons useful please drop me a line, or better yet,
- send me a postcard! I'm always interested to how wide-spread this
- work becomes!
-
- I should also mention, that I only made EGA versions of the icons and
- I don't know what they'll look like if you use PC/GEOS on a lesser
- quality monitor -- sorry.

- PS. I was once told that I'm supposed to E-mail someone when uploading
- to MIR. Could someone tell me who that is so I can write him?
